McKee Engineering Solutions Ltd repositioned an injection moulding machine using Air Skate technology.
The injection unit, weighing approximately 8 tonnes, was moved into a new position within the customer’s facility without the use of conventional lifting equipment. Air Skates create a thin air film beneath the load, allowing controlled, low‑friction movement while preventing damage to painted floors.
This method is particularly suitable for pharmaceutical facilities and areas with freshly painted or finished floors, where protection of the environment is critical. The work was planned and executed to maintain full control of the load and preserve machine integrity throughout the relocation.
